Dependencies linking between activities

Dear Sir/Madam,

This question is regarding dependencies linking and baselining the planning.
The issue faced by me during project planning and linking is "
after the dependencies linking , whether the linking of dates will be aligned as per the
planning". So I have performed following test case to verify it:

created new project "Test scheduling"
created 4-5 activities and provide start date , allocate resource, enter BL effort.
On validating/baselining nothing happened like change in dates etc. Though i can see my
linking in gantt chart as per the baseline.But the dates are not changed for activities as per the dependency
for activities

So for all the activities,manual Baselined start date and end date need to be filled.According to my view,after initial baselining and as per dependency
dates should get filled automatically for predecessor and successor activities as per reference date.
