this depends on your local browser / server settings. Some could be influenced with Global Paramenters - Localization.

You know i just tried it in firefox and it is in the D/M/Y format wheras chrome is the M/D/Y.

Thanks climb4fun i didnt realise there was so many things that affected this format. :)

Another hint: In Chrome, if you change your language from English US to English UK, this has influence on date format as well.
