real work comment

Is there a possibility to add a comment for each "real work" period?
I am used to teamwork's worklog that gives the possiblity to add a comment for each work period and indicate start and end times (for automatic calculation of time passed, for example)

This is very important for offline analysis of the progress of tasks and difficulties people had.
Is there a way to mimic this?

Yes, I saw that there was a comment field.
However, it seems to be valid for the whole list of periods. I did not find how to set comment for each period, neither did i find how to set when a real work period starts.
I've been playing with demo not to make my install dirty but could not succeed.
