Hello,
I just discovered ProjeQtor, and I do some testing to see if I can propose it to my company.
I blocked on a need we have.

In a project, I would like to assign a number of hours to a parent activity. But, I would impute hours on children activities of this activity, and the count of hours is done in the parent activity.

Currently, if I add the hours on the children activity, the hours are counted in the parent activity, but not counted in the hours assigned to the parent activity.






I don't know if my explanation is understandable, but is there a way to fix this problem ?

Hi,
The description is clear but this is not a problem, it is designed this way.
If you define some work on parent activity, then toll expects the real work is spent on parent activity.
If you enter work on child activity, rela work is summed up to the parent, but there is not update of "assigned" or "left" work on parent.

There may be a way but it's a bit more complicated than what you expect and won't be automatic:
Define Parent A
Define Sub Tasks A1, A2, ...
Assign Resources to A with expected work.
Assign Resources to A1, A2 with no work.
Resource will input real work on A1, A2, but this will not reduce left work on A.

Another way is do deal with tichets.
Define A, assign resources to A.
Define tickets for A1, A2, with parent activity = A
Resource will enter real work directly on tickets.
Real work on tickets will be summed up on A, and removed from left work on A.
Maybe it's what you expect.
