Hi,

Wer'e planning to deploy Projeqtor (version 5.3.2) on SLES 12, which include MariaDB 10.0.22.

Is MariaDB compatible with Projeqtor (version 5.3.2) ?
What would be the best choice for the projeqtor databse : MariaDB10.0.22 or MySQL 5.7 ?

Hi,

First, Iwould advice to deploy V5.3.3 as it is latest stable release.

As MariaDB is just a fork of MySql, ProjeQtOr is compatible with MariaDB.
Maybe in the future the 2 RDBMS will diverge, but as ProjeQtOr only uses basis DB features, compatibility should be preserved.

I don't think you'd notice any difference between MariaDB and MySql.
It is just a licencing purpose that pushed some sommunity to fork the tool, threatening after MySql was bought by major company ;)
As of today, both are quite the same.

HI,

The Projeqtor 5.3.2 installation failed with Maria DB 10.0.22 (sles 12) so we have to use MySQL

The problem is something linked with : mechanics.NotAllowedScript6823b6b15845dflite.com/blog/2014/07/29/usin...to-avoid-error-1071/
The solution provided is not working with Maria DB.
team which did it is not able to give me more information.
