Right on resources allocation

I defined a profile who is a team leader, not a projet leader. This profile can only allocate resource on activity/project already definded by a project leader. However, for allowing this user to create allocation on project/activity, I have to :
- Define a specific access mode with view and update capability (on his affected project)
- Define in data access (project dependent), this specific access mode for project/activity/milestone.

The problem that user can also update all the other part of the project/activity/milestone -> that's wrong, only ressource allocation have to be open.

If I delete the data acces on project/activity/milestone, the user can't update project/activity/milestone. allocation include.
However, the user has right on Allocation menu (in environment param) work well in this context.... for project scope only.

I think, you have to add allocation right check on project/activity/milestone detail part. Even if project/activity/milestone update is forbidden, if allocation is allowed, this part have to be active for the user

I don't agree with you : defining an assignment to an activity changes the activity, so I would never allow someone to add an assignement if I don't want him to change the activity.
What you required is very specific.
It may be possible, by only throught the "screen customization" plugin.
This plugin will give possibility to set as readonly all fields of activity for defined profile, keeping only assignment as updatable.

Ok, but, if it's not a bug WHY?
Why I can define a resource allocation on Project in menu "Allocation" and I can't do the exact same thing (allocate resource on project) on project detail page?
The consistency is strange....

So, thanks for your answer, I have to find another way to work....

I think there is a misunderstanding.
You first talked about "allocate resource on activity/project".

If I understand, your issue only deals with Allocation to Project.
My answer was about Assignement to Activity.

For allocation to project, the global design is applied, but I must admit that it is not exactly the same as allocation does not really "change" the project.
It could be an improvement to allow access to allocations depending on allowation rights only, not on project rights...
Request added to the roadmap, to be studied to ensure we don't introduce a security breech.
