Hi

There appears to be no way I can find to communicate any of the planned dates for an activity by email.

I have tried

${planningelement.actualEndDate}
${planningelement.plannedEndDate}
${activityplanningelement.plannedEndDate}

I just get the text of e.g {activityplanningelement.plannedEndDate} printing in the email.

Is there a way of doing this, we need a method to communicate this to assigned team members.

On Email template screen, when entering the template text, you have to listbox that helps you select an available field : all fields are listed here.
If field is not listed here, it means it is simply not available. There is no need to try and guess new syntax for fields.
For emails on activity, fileds from the "planningelement" part are not available.
It could be an improvement to add them, but as of today, they are simply not available.

Thanks for your response. Being able to communicate an activity has been assigned to someone and when it is due to be completed it is important. This is only element type where this can not be done. Could I ask that this enhancement is added to your list of planned improvements. It was possible to do this before we had to use email templates I believe.

It was possible to do this before we had to use email templates I believe.

Absolutely not.
Default email format displays due date for tickets, but not data from planning element on activitty.
You can still test it : remove (or set idle) the template
