No way to Cancel item

When creating an item (in many places), if you select new, add some data to any field, but then want to cancel the item before saving it, you can’t simply go out by selecting other menu items – A message is shown to the user: "Ongoing Changes are not saved. Please save or cancel before". But there is no way to cancel. What has to be done is to click on any other already created item in the list. This clears the bottom view. Then the user can navigate to other menu items.
