Copying activity with "link current element and copy" option checked does not add the link was created by arnpere
Version 5.0.5
Browser : Firefox
Copying activity in gantt view, with "link current element and copy" option checked does not add the link between source and copied activity automatically.

Cannot reproduce.
Working fine on Crome and FF.

I guess you mismatch "link" and dependency".
The option does not ass a dependency between original and copied task, but a link (in the list of linked elements)
