I have a problem exporting to pdf (or xml) from the Planning view. The export opens a new browser window and seem to be loading forever. Nothing in the application logs or apache logs.
The export works ok from the Projects view.
Using V5.2.2.
If planning is important (many days and/or lines) pdf export can be ver (very) long.
So many you can have a Timeout issue or possibly 'out of memory' issue (as pdf export in ver memory consuming)
If this kind of issue occurs, you should have an error logged (in projector log file or in apache error file)
For XML export, I don't think there is an issue.
Could you please try and reproduce on Demo, and if you can please detail your use case.
You are right, the XML export has no issues. I had it hanging before because was probably still trying the PDF export...
Regarding the PDF export I see on the server that CPU is 100% for about 10 minutes than it stops and the page that was supposed to show the PDF is white (blank) with the following entry in the URL:
if I refresh that page I get another 10mins of 100% CPU and then stops.
The project I'm doing the export has 100 activities (Tasks) and is 6 months long.
On your Demo site it's working ok (not my project but whatever is there). I log in as manager and go to Follow up --> Planning and click on the icon "Export to PDF".
I just created a test project on my server with 4 tasks and 2 phases and the export works ok.
I suppose it just can't export after a certain amount of activities.
Yes, export planning to PDF is very "heavy"
Moreover, export is not as clean as printed gantt (no dependency lines, ...)
Best is just to print planning and print it into a pdf printer (such as pdf creator)
Printing to pdf from the open frame only saves the vertical span of the first page of the project.
This might be a limitation of the print to pdf from Linux which I'm using.
Unfortunately pdf creator is not available on Linux so I can't try another pdf print driver.
I was just hoping that export to PDF would work for my project.
