The Resource Planning View does not highlight overloaded resources

The Resource Planning view should indicate which resources are overloaded, by how much and for which period.

I deliberately overloaded a resource, but it does not get highlighted at all.

The planning view shows that the resource is assigned at 120% (see bottom section).

But the tooltip in the top section does not show the overload in red/orange.

The Resource Planning view also fails to highlight the overload situation.

Note that the task bar is shown in green for Task-5.

Finally, I clicked the Calculate activities planning button for the project.
ProjeQtor did not level the resource loading by bringing it down to 100% and making the task duration longer.

I expected the following behavior:
1. In Planning view, the task bar for an overloaded task is shown in orange (instead of green).
2. When we right-click on that task, the overloaded resource's daily work is shown in orange.
3. In Resource planning view, the overloaded resource bar are shown in orange.
4. The Activities planning button brings the overloaded resources back to 100%, and adjusts the task duration.

NO !
ProjeQtOr does not overload resources.
NEVER !
(what interest to calculate planning if it is to have resources planned 4 work days per day)
Forget about bad habits you may have taken with MS-Projects...

Even if assignment rate is more than 100%, planning calculation will never be more than resource capacity.
You can check this on "Real work allocation" ("Timesheet" ;) ) screen or on reports

Yes, you are right!

Actually I don't need to look at the Timesheet: My own screenshot (the right-click on the task in the Planning view) shows that the resource is supposed to work at 8 hours per day, for 5 days to complete those 40 hours work. I missed that!

That means the resource will be actually working at 100% and not 120% as planned.

That said, ProjeQtor should have given some feedback that instead of 120%, it is using 100% rate.
(e.g. showing the Rate field in red, or changing the rate from 120% to 100%, and showing a popup that the rate is adjusted.)

No.
If I enter 100% I don't want an alert if resource is planned at 80% (because used on another project).
Possibly we could limit input to 100%.

There are different possibilities:

1. The resource is already allocated 100% to one project, and I try to allocate him to another project in the same period.
Will projeQtor raise alarm at that point of time, or wait till actual assignments to different elements exceed 100%?

2. The resource is allocated 100% to a project, and assigned to several tasks within that project.
If the total assignments exceed 100%, then how will ProjeQtor respond?
Only the last assignment reduced to make the total 100%?
Or ask the PM to balance it on day-to basis?
Or share the load equally to make 100% on day-to-day basis?
Or any other logic...

There is no issue on ProjeQtOr side.
100% on two projects only means resource has possibility to work full time on any (but not on each at same time).
This means that it is the priority of project and/or activities that will decide on which project resource is planned each day. But alway never more that his capacity.

Same thing, he can be assigned at 100% to every activities, he will just work on them the one after the other.
