Unable to cancel a meeting without MoM

Hi,

I have a small project that has a modified workflow, as shown

In this project, there is a meeting called "HLD" (task #10.6).

I tried to cancel this task, by changing its status from "Recorded" to "Cancelled".
Since the workflow allows this, I expected no issues.
But ProjeQtor throws the following error:

I thought the mandatory fields were required only to close the activity successfully.
But if a meeting is cancelled (=aborted), it cannot have these artifacts.

How to deal with this issue?

Most likely it is because the status "cancelled" is concidered as "done" status (set done status is checked).
This is defaut configuration, but it's not accurate : cancelled should not be concidered as done.
Change status, it should fix the issue.

Hi

I tried to change the status, and this where I discovered (to my utter surprise) that ProjeQtor does not actually offer me all the possible options, as per workflow!

The pulldown only offers two options: Prepared or Cancelled.

It should offer me all 5 states that allowed by the workflow: In Progress, progress, done, closed, cancelled.
Instead, it allows me only 2 of them. (Bug??)

So I cannot change it to Closed (at which point I should be prompted to enter Minutes.)

It also does not allow me to enter a tick in any of the check boxes below (Done, closed, cancelled...) (bug??)

All of this is defined on type (type of meeting in your case).
Which workflow is used, are checks checkable, ...

Ah ok, got that: The check boxes were disabled in the type-definition of this specific type of meeting.

That's fine.

Error#1: Cannot close an element with left work
I set the left work to zero, and the error vanished.

Error#2. The "responsible" field is mandatory:
The type definition says that a responsible person needs to be identified when this task is handled. Here, ProjeQtor seems to treat a task "handled" as soon as its status changes from Recorded to anything else (in our case, Cancelled).

Practically, if a steering meeting is cancelled, someone should take the responsibility. So I agree this is a good interpretation.

Error#3: The "Minutes" field is mandatory.

Here, a bug exists IMHO: If the meeting is cancelled, there cannot be a MoM!
So ProjeQtor should allow us to change the status from Recorded to Cancelled.

Here, ProjeQtor seems to treat a task "handled" as soon as its status changes from Recorded to anything else (in our case, Cancelled).

It sets handled as soon as it is in a status that has "is handled status" checked ;)

Here, a bug exists IMHO: If the meeting is cancelled, there cannot be a MoM!
So ProjeQtor should allow us to change the status from Recorded to Cancelled.

It is just because on default configuration status "cancelled" has "is done status" checked, which is wrong... Just fix this in cancelled status definition.
