Track developments was created by JCDe
Hello,

First of all congratulations for your project, make sure the developpememt and support!
My questions:
1) I want to know the planning of future developments? You talk about "Track Data Base", but how to connect? My login does not work
2) I have two major needs:
- Ticket # 399,
- Add field to Specify unit: hours or day,

Proposed evolution:
- Ability to assign a resource to many project with a rate (50/50)
- Calendar by resource to manage the discharge planning

Thank you in advance

You can acces the track database throught the "track" menu.
Direct access is projectorria.toolware.fr/track .
Log as guest/guest (or invité/invité).

Major need :
- #399 : not planned yet. I raised status to "assigned" to plan it. Not sure it will be included in next version.
- add field to specify unit : hours or days. It is ticket #387. It was not one of the most expected feature in the recent poll. So it will probably not be included in V1.8.0.

Most expected features are :
- reminders and alerts : ongoing work
- export to MS-Project : next palnned evolution

Proposed evolution :
- Ability to assign a resource to many project with a rate (50/50)
=> It is possible yet. Assignation to a project (called affectation to make the difference with assignation to activity) takes into account affectation rate. Have a look at "Planning" in the manual for more information.

- Calendar by resource
=> could you explain your need ? If it is to take into account holidays for resources, the best is to define a specific project for this need, and resource will enter real work for planned holidays, so that work will not be planned these days. This also helps to count remaining holidays not planned yet (you assigned total days at the beginning of the year).

Thank you for your return,

I think the ticket # 399 is important because it is long enough to copy several of the same sub-project:

Exemple
- Milestone input (1 or more)
- Task 1 => Duration
- Task 2 => Duration
- Task 3 => Duration
- Milestone output (1 or more)

Make configurable:
- Number of Milestone and Task
- Duration of the task

We could save several sub-project.

This would make planning faster.

For holiday, my idea is to define non-working days per person. This parameter is filled in a simple GUI for the user or project manager in User or assignment.

Hi,

IMO, the more simple and more fluent is to propose a Copy for projet that would copy the entire structure of the project, including activities and milstones; without any limit.

About holidays, I will continue to encourage using a specific project.
Using specific calendards for each user will :
- complexify planning algorythm
- reduce visibility of project leader to availability of resource

These two points confirms the idea I have since several weeks that a Type of Project must be added.
We could then define :
- operational project
- administrative project (holidays, sickness, training)
- template project

Ok good idea to manage multiple projects, but:
For me I would replace "administrative project" with "not project activities"
It must:
1) the administrator writes the list of non-project activities (holidays, training, support, ...)
2) The "not project activities" planning activities must not be shown not to saturate the display.

For Project Template => I do not understand: "IMO, the more simple and more fluent?"

"IMO, the more simple and more fluent?"

means :

In my opinion, the more easy to develop, and more easy to use ...
