Hi, first of all thanks for the great software and the help provided through this forum, this is much appreciated.

I use Projeqtor since a few months and am now confronted to a new situation I don't know how to deal with.

I have a recurring task which has to be done every tusday and thursday morning. This task can be done by either one of the 4 team members. I tried to plan it by creating a new recurring task on weekly basis and assign it to 4 members and specify a 0.5 day assignation on tuesday and thursday.

This results in having all 4 ressources working on this task at the same time each week which is not what I want.

How can I deal with it simply? I thought about creating an administrative project and "assign" the work through real work or create a new recurring task for each new weeke but neither of these methods satisfy me.

Hello,

This task can be done by either one of the 4 team members

You have to use pool of resources. That is what you need ;)

Go on pool of resources screen and press F1 to read our user manual guide.

Hi,
sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

I tried to use the pools of resources. I first created a new pool of resources and added all 4 team members to it. Then I created a new activity and assigned it to the pool of resources.
When I check in the resource planning I notice that it shows work allocation for the pool itself but not its individual members. Also in the diary for each of the pool members, no work appears.
Did I do something wrong or is it the normal behavior of the software?

It is norlal behavior.
Resources are not individually booked (otherwise you should simply individually assign them)
They are booked "through the pool".
This means that booking of the pool takes into account individual availability of resources, and booking of resources takes into account that at east one resource must be available ot work on the pool.
The backside of pool management is that you never know which resource is booked through the pool : it may be possible that several resources are available or that only one is available, you may not know. Also, pool management will not ensure that is it the same resource that will always work on the activity, not even on e single day.

I see,
thanks for your answer. From your explanation, I understand that it is then impossible for each of the resource pool members to know if he will indeed have to work on this specific task based on his availability.
Maybe I should have been more precise and say from the beginning that only 2.5 FTP are required every day for this recurring task.

So I think I will instead of using a resource pool, assign all of them to this recurring task and specify a work load equivalent to 2.5 X working days, and share this work load among all of them and adjust it as time goes by. Would it be a good approach?
