I'd like to tell you about an issue concerning the leave periods:
When someone creates (submits and it's accepted) a leave period only the morning of a day, and then he realises that he need the whole day, a second leave period on the afternoon of the same date can be created (submitted and accepted) but only 0,5 of the day is present on the timesheet.
And if I delete the last leave period created, there's nothing left on the timesheet, even if there is still a leave period valid (accepted for the morning)
I found the problem under the version 8.5.0 and after upgrading to 8.5.5, I still have the same behaviour.
For now, we need to delete the first leave period to create a new one from AM to PM of the day.
I confirm that fact ! I don't know what I looked before but same result as yours (in hours for me 4H in timesheet not updated. As soon as you accept a leave period, sound like you cannot update it !
I confirm that when the leave periods are accepted, in the timesheet we see both (version 8.6.3), but when they are only submitted, the issue still remains, we can only see 0,5 as planned for the day.
It's not so problematic, but I wished to tell you.
