Hi,
You can activate the "Technical progress" feature, also identified as "progress in work unit" , in global parameters
You'll be able to define a progress not linked to work.
But :
- it won't be displayed in Gantt chart (only Work progress is displayed in Gantt chart)
- it won't be exported to MS-Project
But the issue may be in your may to follow work. You should update left work to get real progress on your tasks, and then identify if you'll produce deliverables on time.
If you have an activity to produce a deliverable with 10 assigned work days, resource has worked 9 days, and progress on deliverable is 20%, left work cannot be 1 day.
If progress is linear, then left work should be 36 days (if 9 days covers 20%, total will be 45 days).
Maybe progress is not linear, so resource must update left work to what he thinks he needs to finish the production of deliverable. But sure it must not be 1 in your case.
Left work is the key to determine real progress.
