Manage resources was created by sharky
Hi,

In ProjeQtor, to manage resources. It is possible to define the occupancy rate of a resource (ETP) to assign a collaborator to a project or a task. How should the employee's occupation percentage be interpreted?
In a project : If the employee's contract is 100% = ETP=1, and he is assigned to the project at 50%, does that mean that his work is 50% in this project?
In a task : if the employee is assigned 10% of a task, is it really 10% of his time and not 10% of the task?

Is it better to allocate time to the project or to the task?
What is the best practice?

I have created a recurring tasks project. This contains tasks that are recurring for the base of the operation of a department, which I assign to the user as for example : management, which corresponds to leading a team. If I assign a 5% employee to this task, how can I see the rest of their free time so I can assign them to other projects, and know their occupancy rate?

Thank you

Allocation and Assignment rates will have impact on planning calculation:

Allocation at 50% on a project will mean resource can spend half his time on the project on a weekly basis.
So for resource with ETP=1 on a 5 days week, resource will be planned no more than 2.5 days per week on the project.
This is do,ne to "leave some capacity" for other projects.

Assignment at 10% on activity means resource will be planned max at 10% of his capacity every day.
So for resource with ETP=1, resource will be planned no more than 0.1 day per day on the activity.
