In the notification indicators, you can receive a popup when the due date is approaching.
Is it possible to have an email alert in addition to the popup?

Yes, in the definition, just check "send an email"

the check box of the email is marked On but there is no email with notification

1) The recipient selected must have an email adress
2) if he is the one that makes the operation that triggers the notification, he must not have selected "do not send own mails"
