The problem we have is we do not know when planning that the assigned work days might be longer than expected. We need to find a way for those completing the time sheets to record the actual time, increase the assigned to time and still show in the time sheet when the activity needs to be completed.
How to get planned end date in time sheet to show orginal planned end date?
What seems to happen is user record in time sheet eg. 1 day used at start of the task. e.g 1st August, where orginally planned start date is 1st Aug to 7th Aug. The action of recording the 1 days (expected time) updates the activities planned start and end date to 1st Aug (with out running planning). The time sheet now shows the activity as planned for 1st Aug to 1st Aug. If the user updates the required assigned days to say 2. The time sheet still shows the planned start and end date as 1st August, so user can not see in time sheet when activity is originally required for (planned end date). Since this happens a lot especially where the project manager has little idea of work time required for tasks.
We need the time sheets for IT staff to show when activities are required for. Is there a way around this. If we run planning then all the activities planned dates will update.only project manager can do this and often causes a lot of work to resolve the issues a re-plan creates and sometimes can not work out why planned start dates are created.
Please see attached document with screen shots of this problem.
Timesheet does not show the planned dates, but the "more accurate" dates.
It means :
Real dates if set
Else Planned dates if set
Else Validated dated if set
Else requested dates (if set)
Planned end dates are displayed for instance on planning and on resource planning.
