Hello
I'm running projeqtor 9.5.5 (update to new version is planned)
I do not have Microsoft Office : only Libre Office
In the 'global parameters' screen the export format is set to Open document
in the ‘users parameters’ screen the export format is also set to Open document
I ask for the export of a reportThe format is Xlsx even if the export parameters are set to open documentI choose to open in Libre office calcI get some garbage caracters , specially in the cells where I am supposed to have numbers
We're confused because these parameters are only for the HR module and we actually see that the tooltip doesn't mention it at all. This will be done in the next patch.
for character issues it is UTF8 encoding which does not match that of your system. The one we generate is in UTF8 windows format.
Thank you for your answer but I'm sorry I do not fully understand it
I'm running windows 10 on my computer : if projeqtor is generating utf8 in windows format then why do I have a problem opening ths generated xlsx file in Libre Office on a window computer ??
Furthermore when I export csv (projects or activities for instance) they are utf8 as well and I have no probleme opening them with Libre Office
more generaly : why generating a microsoft office format file and not at least giving the user the choice between the microsoft format and the open document format, as it seems that you do in the HR module ? I would think that you would be supporting the open document format rather than the microsoft format !!
1) Export of reports is always in xlsx format, never in odf, even if a global parameter seems to apply to this case : this parameter only applies to HR Dashbord export.
But this is not really an issue as Libre office can open xlsx files.
2) Weird characters are due encoding.
To fit most needs we extract excel with encoding 'CP1252' (corresponding to Windows-1252 charset)
To avoid this, you can set global pamareter "Export CSV files to UTF-8" to YES, to preserve UTF-8 encoding
hello
I agree with you that the export file format should not be an issue since libre office can read .xlsx format.
Sorry but 'Setting Export CSV files to UTF-8 to YES' does not work : this paramameter was already set in my system, I checked (see screen copy attached) and tried again : I still have the problem
So obviously something doesn't work as it is supposed to !
Please note that I upgraded my version to 10.0.6 (not 9.5.5 anymore)
