It would be helpfull to have component type column in the components version.
It seams that the system to choose the component in the component version screen works in the background witht the ID of the component. However if you want to import it by .csv this is not possible and also the information of component type is ignored. So it will chose always the same component type even the component exists in several different types.
E.g. there are hardware depending libraries to handle. These libraries contains some modules (components) the modules are called in each library the same (identical). (So that the user of the library can execute identical commands independant of the hardwarearchitecture and gets identical results).
This works fine so far until to the level of the components, because a component type can be assigned to the component.
If you generate now a component version manually it is easy to decide because you can filter in the selection by component type. (And also if you push on the "eye"-symbol, the component description is shown including the component type).
But if the component which is selected for the component version, this information is not visible on the interface anymore and cannot be filtered. So the result is that the version appears several times without visible difference (except of ID)
The only solution in the moment is to add the type in the name of the component that it is visible (but very ugly because it destrois identical name giving to the software)
You face a very specific issue : several components with same name...
It won't be possible to filter list of component versions on component types without breaking framework structure.
If component version type does not fit your need, only solution will be to use our screen customisation plugin to add idComponentType on component version object.
Filterning by components version type could work once the components are assigned, but it doesn't solve the problem, because the components must be all manually assigned...
E.g. if I import a csv, it will still ignore the component type and referncing with component ID is also not working which would solve the problem of assigning the component version to a component of a specific type.
In this case i guess customisation plugin would help in the case of display, but will it also update the import criteria with this column?
(Do the changes done by any of your plugin remain after an update?)
In the section "Structure - List of product or component versions using this version" for example you have shown the Version-column which shows the id of the Product/Component (Version) which uses this Component version.
Version type would also solve the issue of assigning specific type to component version.
But unfortunatley the component versions cannot be done "floating" and then be assigned the same way at the components screen...
