The complexity is certainly due to the completeness, that brings this sensation when discovering the tool.

To ease first access, it is possible for the administrator to hide menus based on user profile.

Thus, it is possible to start using by opening access to some simple features and expand access when users are familiar with the tool.

 

On the austerity side, it is a design choice taken. From the beginning, ProjeQtOr was designed to provide an easy to use interface, providing quick access to information.

Some competitors may offer cool graphic interface with animations, 3D effects or recent fashion "flat-design".

It's flashy, but once the novelty past, one can realize that behind the effects, there is not much and pretty animations quickly become annoying on daily work and can even slow use.

This is absolutely not the orientation of ProjeQtOr, which aims to be usable and pragmatic, even if it has to stay a little austere.

 

A simple example of this usability: on all screens to save the changes you just press [CTRL] + [S].

It's very fast and it avoids having to click on the save button.

For those who have used Microsoft Office products (among others), this shortcut has become automatic.

Unfortunately, it is almost never present on web applications.

Fortunately, ProjeQtOr integrates it.
